Welcome to Keayney…
Welcome to Keayney. A world where magic and technology is a bastardized, hybrid joke of itself. A group of elves take up weapons for and against their own personal demons. Wolf, Mercenary, Thief, Bard, and Exorcist.
Elven Lacryment: Written by Q Illustrated by Alex Moore

The Story thus far…
Late into the night, a scream rips through the air of Lacuna Village. The outcry understandably, awakes several villagers. One especially concerned and curious townsman, an elf, slips into the cottage where the scream originated from. His eyes fall upon a horrifying sight:

One of the well liked villagers, CopperFox, is crying in a crumpled heap on her floor. Above her crouches a fearsome InnerDust elf, also called ‘Glenney’. In the Glenney’s shadowed hand is a cruel looking knife. Tears roll down CopperFox’s cheeks and she digs her fingers against her attacker’s shoulder.

The Glenney rises slowly, before lunging at the curious male elf in the doorway. The Glenney pushes past the good Samaritan and into the village streets. An angry, torch and weapon wielding mob greets him. The InnerDust elf runs.

As the horde of farmers and law abiding men chase the InnerDust elf, CopperFox slowly emerges from her hut. We see that she is heavy with child and in great pain.

Meanwhile, the Glenney has climbed up a towering cliff in an effort to lose the angry mob. To his misfortune, he finds that a dead end lay in his path. Turning, the Glenney also sees that the mob had caught up to him. He balls his fists and sneers, with intent to fight, but a villager flails a torch at the InnerDust elf’s night-accustomed eyes: little embers burn his face and the glare from the fire blinds him severely. Clutching his face, the InnerDust elf cries out, reeling backwards. The cliff gives way, and the InnerDust elf falls into blackness.

Copperfox sees all these going-on’s from her front porch. She screams out in extreme agony, shedding a tear as she falls unconscious.

Underneath her, in a pool of life-sustaining fluid, lay her newborn daughter.

Fifty years go by and now, the child appears to be five…

Frequently Asked Questions
(Updated Feb 1st 2009)

Question: What is Elven Lacryment about?
Answer: It’s about a group of elves who for various reasons -some personal, often selfish- band together in search for answers to individual questions they have about their destinies.

Question: How did you come up with Elven Lacryment?
Answer: Role play. The (arguably) main character was Q’s old D&D character. Others were inspired by other outside stimuli, something like “I want a character named _______!” and lo, a character.

Question: Who does what on this comic?
Answer: From 2005-2007, Alex illustrated all the the pages. Due to time constraints, she left, and now Crystal Dunn came in to do the art in 2008, but she too had to leave for personal reasons. Alex is returning in 2009, and the comic is going to update…however it updates.
Q writes the story. The characters and story are her creations. She also does the cover-art. Up to 2009, she did the mediocre site layout until it was converted to WordPress.

Question: Who’s who?
Answer: Alex is a young woman from the land of tea and crumpets and loos.
Q is a 27 year old freak from Canada. Her hat has earflaps and she wears a lot of plaid.

Question: What does “Lacryment” mean?
Answer: Look it up. Ok, ok. It actually doesn’t mean anything. It’s basically a fabricated word modified from ‘Lachrymate’, which means ‘too weep’. It’s a hybrid of ‘Lachrymate’ and ‘lament’, both which mean very similar things. The title ‘Elven Lacryment’ is supposed to give the impression of deep grief, as felt by elves alone. My, I bullshitted that one good. No one will know it was a type-o.

Question: I don’t get it. The Art’s hard to follow!
Answer: Lazy bastard.
Seriously, there’s a synopsis of the story right above you! Look up. Any questions should be answered there.

Question: What’s the schedule?
Answer: Heck if we know.

Question: Do you have any merchandise?
Answer: We did. Now we don’t.
