The girls decided that it was unfair to both the story and the readers to just update whenever, so a new plan of attack was formed.

Q, the writing girl re-wrote sizable portions of the story, re-working the narrative and giving it more pop and bite, tranforming it into something a little less self-serving and shallow.

While that was going on, Alex, the art girl drew a 7 page prologue, inspired by the old issue 1.

Where do we go from here?
Well, Q and Alex had a lot of discussion about it, and the pair decided to transform Elven Lacryment into something new, something more useful than a common derivative webcomic.

The New Elven Lacryment
Elven Lacryment is a story written by the girl known as Q, and drawn by you.

Maybe.

Elven Lacryment is now an ongoing comic aiming to have a different and fresh artist each issue! This is a wonderful chance to sharpen your skills and ready your portfolio.

What’s the catch?
Well, er, we can’t pay you.
Wait, wait, Elven Lacryment is going to be a project forever free and available for everyone to enjoy unless something like the apocalypse happens.

The money from the ads is earmarked for the domain name, so we cannot use that to pay you either.

That doesn’t mean you can’t make money off your work. You have permission to sell images intended for and
inspired by Elven Lacryment as prints, but I have a few rules.

It doesn’t matter if this is your first or your 10th comic, anyone is eligible to draw an issue!

We’ll chat, get to know each other. We’ll talk about the story, your comfort level, your experience and your vision. The sort of thing you like to draw or hate to draw.

Any and all of these rules may change at a whim, this is a learning experience for the writer too. As the project goes along it may evolve and the way we go about things may be tweaked here and there.

My laptop was in the shop and Alex was extremely busy but here we are.

You might notice we have more dialog this time around. In our first attempt, I just wanted the images to speak for themselves, but that proved confusing to the readers, so hopefully it’s more clear now. Also, this page sort of condenses a bunch of old ones, so…here’s the old page 5.
